Abebech Gobena’s Life and Work Celebrated: Figurine Put in National Museum of Ethiopia

abebAn exhibition entitled “Mother of Thousands” that ran from March 7 – 14, 2012, was opened at the National Museum in Addis Ababa in honor of Dr. Abebech Gobena, a prominent philanthropist and founder of Abebech Gobena Yehetsanat Kebekabena Limat Mahber, showcasing her life and work.

The exhibition was opened by Ato Yonas Desta, Director General of Authority for Research and Conservation of Cultural Heritage (ARCCH) and Ato Hassen Tahir representative of His Excellency Ato Kuma Demeksa, Mayor of Addis Ababa in commemoration of the International Women’s Day on March 8, celebrated in our country for the 36th time this year.
